A Fond Farewell
After twelve years at CLAPA, we gave a fond farewell to Deputy CEO Sue Carroll at a small gathering this week attended by past and present CLAPA staff as well as Trustees.
Sue has been at the heart of CLAPA for a long time, and has seen the charity through many changes. Some of you may remember her from the Residential Camps around the UK she helped to organise, or from training days where she was always happy to pass on her experience and extensive knowledge of cleft lip and palate to CLAPA Volunteers and Parent Contacts. If you ever called CLAPA seeking advice on anything from feeding to accessing treatment, chances are it was Sue at the other end of the phone giving guidance and reassurance to everyone she spoke to.
Sue carries with her the history of CLAPA and over the years has been heavily involved in developing it as a charity. We will all miss her warm smiles, bubbly laugh and the enthusiasm and determination with which she tackled any problem we faced. Sue leaves us at a time when CLAPA is stronger than ever, and though we are very sad to see her go, her legacy will live on in everything she has done to make CLAPA the organisation it is today.
We wish her all the best for what will no doubt be a wonderful future ahead.
