Fun on the Farm with South London and Surrey
26 families (48 adults and 50 children) joined the South London and Surrey Branch for a fun packed day at Bocketts Farm Park on Sunday 14th September.
The children were treated to an exclusive animal handling session and were able to stroke guinea pigs, rabbits, a silver crested Polish chicken and a dwarf goat. We then climbed onto a trailer and enjoyed being pulled around the farm behind a tractor to see more of the farm animals in their fields and enjoy the beautiful Surrey countryside in the late summer sunshine.
There was plenty to see and do, from looking at the bigger animals in the big barn, to watching and cheering on the piglets in the pig race, to running around and having lots of fun in the play areas.
At lunchtime, everybody met up for the big CLAPA 35th Birthday Summer Family Picnic and then the children joined in and played party games, which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
To celebrate CLAPA’s 35th Birthday, there were balloons for all the children and we all sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed a slice or two of birthday cake, followed by birthday presents for all the children.
A great time was had by all and it was lovely to see all of the children enjoying themselves and playing together, whilst the adults chatted and caught up with old friends. It was also wonderful to welcome new families to the CLAPA community and we look forward to seeing everybody at the Children’s Christmas Party.
Many thanks to all of the South London and Surrey Branch Committee, Tamsin, Andy, Ann, Claire, Claire and Caroline for all of their hard work in making the day such a great success.
