#FundraisingFriday: Laura’s Fun Day
This #FundraisingFriday we’d like to say a big thank you to Laura and her family who ran a charity fun day last weekend in Goole at Old Goole Working Mens Club. Not only did they raise over £350, they raised awareness of our vital cause by getting into the local papers!
When asked why Laura had chosen to fundraise for CLAPA, she replied:
“Our journey began when we went for our routine 20 week scan and the sonographer informed us that our son had a cleft lip and most likely a cleft palate. As soon as I got home I entered “cleft” in to a search engine and CLAPA was the first page that came up. Reading their website and seeing the photos of the work the surgeons can do made me feel reassured and helped me come to terms with our son’s diagnosis, without this I would of been so worried. CLAPA are a fantastic support for myself, other parents and medical professionals.”
Thank you to Laura, her family and all the wonderful people who attended on the day to show their support. You’re all amazing!
