#FundraisingFriday: Colin and Becky’s Story
Colin got in touch to tell us why fundraising for CLAPA was so important to him and his daughter, Becky.
Daniel was the youngest of my twin sons, born 13 minutes later than his brother and born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. His brother Jack didn’t have any problems.
CLAPA supported not only Daniel, but our whole family. We all had questions – his parents, his sisters. CLAPA helped us all with explanations and with equipment (feeding wasn’t easy).
As a returning runner, I have been running on and off since I was 15, so taking part in a run for CLAPA seemed like a great way to raise money and give something back. We wanted to say thanks!

Joined by Daniel’s eldest sister, Becky, we chose to run this year’s York 10K in aid of CLAPA.
We were very proud to complete the race on a sunny day in August. with Becky finishing the route in 51:10 and me 01:01 – we had a great run!
