Scotland Launch Event
Sunday 24th January saw the launch of our Scotland Regional Coordinator Project in Albert Halls, Stirling. Gillian McCarthy, Senior Regional Coordinator, and Melanie Skinner, Support Officer, hosted a fun-packed afternoon with presentations about the project from themselves and volunteers along with circus skills and tricks from Adventure Circus – Perth.
Families affected by cleft, health professionals, and CLAPA volunteers and staff came together to share exciting new ideas for groups, branches, and fundraising, and to try their hand at juggling, spinning plates, and aerial acrobatics!
We were also lucky enough to be joined by representatives from two of the project’s funders, The Sick Kids Friends Foundation and Yorkhill Children’s Charity. It was great to see so many familiar and new faces!
With Branches in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow and New Happy Faces groups in Glasgow and Edinburgh with plans for Fife and Aberdeen, activities for older children across the country, and Family Days already taking place in Scotland and lots more planned besides, we are really excited to see how the project develops and would love you to join us!
If you would like to take part in activities, volunteer, or fundraise for CLAPA, please get in touch with Gillian at [email protected].
