Do you want to use your voice to help shape, support, and guide CLAPA to deliver the right services for adults born with a cleft in the UK?
Join CLAPA’s Young Adults Group (ages 18-25) or the Adults Focus Group (all ages 18+) to meet other adults and discuss topics like gaps in services, recent experiences, ideas for improving services, and much more.
Members will meet regularly over Zoom, with meetings facilitated by the Adult Services Coordinator at CLAPA. When signing up, please let us know if there’s anything we can do to support you to take part in these meetings.
Both groups will help CLAPA to develop an engaging range of services to support adults in the cleft community. Members will offer their experiences and insights to analyse feedback from previous events and evaluate CLAPA’s website and resources to ensure they remain current, accurate, and supportive of adults. As we’re currently working to put together CLAPA’s strategy for 2025 and beyond, this is a particularly exciting time to get involved.
It’s important to CLAPA that this new group includes a range of voices, and applicants of all backgrounds, experiences and walks of life are encouraged to apply.

Do I need to join the Young Adults Group if I’m 25 or under?
As long as you’re in the UK, aged 18+ and were born with a cleft, you can join either group. The Young Adults Group will look at the needs and experiences of young adults, while the Adults Focus Group will consider issues for adults of all ages. It’s up to you which you’re more interested in joining!
Do I need to have any particular training or experience?
No. As long as you’re passionate about using your voice to support others born with a cleft in the UK, you’re fully qualified!
