World Champion
Bailey Walsh was born April 2003 with a cleft lip and palate. Since the age of three, Bailey has studied a mix of Tae Kwon Do, Kick Boxing and Kung Fu and has excelled in these to a competitive level.

Disney’s The Lone Ranger and The Portayal of Cleft Lip
We’re extremely disappointed to see that Disney are once again cashing in on prejudice by giving their villain in the upcoming Lone Ranger film a very visible prosthetic cleft lip as part of his ‘look’ as an evil, sinister character. Not only is this incredibly lazy storytelling, it’s also sending a deeply harmful message that will impact the 90,000 people that were born with a cleft in the UK as well as others worldwide.

James Kiff, a Speciailst Clinical Psychologist from the East of England Cleft Service, has planned an ambitious cycle ride from Paris to Nice in France to raise money for CLAPA.

Emily’s Story
"We were delighted to discover we were expecting our second child in the summer of 2011. I had a fairly straightforward pregnancy and normal scans throughout. Our daughter Isabelle was born on 21st April 2012 at 00.52AM, coming quite unexpectedly on her due date. Her birth was very fast and when they handed her to me I couldn't believe how tiny she was at 5lb 9oz.

Trekkers Conquer Annapurna Circuit
Jay and Lisa-Marie Bush took up the challenge of an unguided trek of the Nepalese Annapurna Circuit during October-November 2012 after Lisa-Marie's cousin Lesley had a child with a cleft.

CRANE Publishes Findings of Annual Report
The latest Annual Report from the CRANE database has shown an unacceptably high percentage of babies with cleft palate being diagnosed after the 24-hour mark.
