Find a local or national cleft support group unaffiliated with CLAPA.
On this page, you can find a list of non-CLAPA support groups which meet online or in person across the UK. These allow people affected by cleft to be able to get together in-person, share experiences and support each other.
These groups are not run by or affiliated with CLAPA, so please be aware that if you choose to attend one of these groups or get in touch with the organisers, you do so at your own risk. CLAPA has no control over these groups and cannot take any responsibility for the running of events or issues you may encounter.
Please take care when meeting new people or sharing personal details. It’s a good idea to meet for the first time in a public place and let a friend or family member know your plans. When attending in person events, you should only need to share what you’re comfortable with.

Families of children aged 0-4 under the South West Cleft Service.
This is an opportunity to meet with families of children born with a cleft lip/palate in an informal setting. Families often find it useful to share experiences, provide tips and meet children and their families at various stages of their cleft journey.
The coffee mornings are typically attended by a member of the cleft team from nursing, speech and language therapy and psychology. On occasion, special speakers are also organised. Coffee mornings are hosted in each area covered by the South West Cleft Service and occur several times a year.
