Talk to a volunteer adult through CLAPA's Peer Support Service

Get started

For people affected by a condition like cleft, just knowing you’re not alone can make a world of difference. CLAPA has always been about bringing together people affected by cleft in the spirit of mutual support to share experiences and offer a listening ear.

As well as trained volunteers, we have a number of online support groups full of people who would love to talk to you. Please note: this service is only available to people who live in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA is committed to safeguarding the people of all ages and backgrounds who use our services. Click to find out more about how we make safeguarding a priority.

How does the Peer Support Service work?

  • Step 1: Get in touch

Fill in the form below to tell us a little about yourself. We might get in touch again if we need more information, or if we think a different service would be more helpful.

Note: Our phones are currently offline, but you are welcome to leave a message at 020 7833 4883 and ask for someone to call you back about the Peer Support Service.

  • Step 2: Make a match

CLAPA will match you with a trained volunteer who we think will best understand your needs and experiences. We’ll tell you and your supporter about each other before the first contact.

  • Step 3: Getting connected

Your Peer Supporter will get in touch at a time that suits you to talk through what’s on your mind. This can be by phone or email. You might talk just once, or several times depending on your needs.

  • Step 4: Feedback

Once this support has ended, you’ll be asked to fill out a short feedback form to help us improve this service.
